We have great pride in our military and veterans and honor them on Veterans Day each November 11th.  Did you know how and why it is on November 11th?  The reason dates back to 1918 and pays homage to the date and time the WW I cease fire went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when a temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect. November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars” eventhough the official end of the what we refer to as "The Great War" ended with the Treaty of Versailles signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France.

Have you checked your brakes lately?   I know you expect them to stop your car or truck when you step on that brake pedal, but when they don't work as expected it's too late and then you have an accident with damage to your vehicle but more importantly to the people inside your car and those on the road who may be in your path.

Let's avoid that issue!  Test your brakes by lightly tapping them in different situations when the roads are both wet and dry.   If your vehicle is pulling to one side, your brake pedal pulses up and down or the steering wheel shakes when the brakes are applied, you are very much overdue for a brake check.  Getting in early will save you money as it is always easier to fix a problem before it becomes a huge issue and your brakes are gone requiring new brakes, pads, rotars, and drums.

When in doubt stop by our shop and have one of our professional automotive repair technicians take a look.    Don't wait until it's too late to solve these problems and let us help you stay safe on the road!  After all, that is the reason we raise these garage doors every day and open these tool boxes.  We love what we do and want to ensure our drivers can stay on the roads longer with their vehicles safer and more cost efficiently.

How often should you get your transmission fluid changed?  The transmission industry's standard is 25,000 to 30,000 miles or every two years.  If you tow a trailer, 15,000 to 20,000 miles is recommended depending on the amount of towing. Motorhomes can vary with the amount that they are driven. The best thing that you can do is check the fluid regularly; notice the color, odor and level of the fluid. If you notice a change in the color, odor or level, have it checked by one of our trained technicians.

What type of fluid should you use? The suggested fluids differ from one manufacturer to another and you can check the owner's manual to ensure the correct transmission fluid is utilized per your specific auto or truck make and model.  However, here our technicians have a computer program that will insure the right fluid goes into your transmission. We offer a full line of transmission fluids to cover all the various demands of any car or truck.

Extremely pleased with my experince here. I was dreading bringing my car in for service, but when the symptoms became worse I simply had no choice.

I brought my car in after work, and right before they closed for the night. I described the symptoms and he figured out what the problem was right then and there. My car was brought inside for the night.  My car is my baby, and this made me happy to know that it would be safe.

They called the next morning with the quote before they started work. I was dreading a bill of hundreds and hundres of dollars, but was pleasantly surprised at the low amount. I picked up my car that evening, and it was just as clean as when I had ropped it off. I was told that they do not upsell, and they kept their word.

I am very happy with the prompt, inexpensive and courteous service and will recommend Dad's Garage to all of my friends.  Jen N of Henderson NV Yelp Review 5 STARS Easily

When you drive a 17-year-old car it's easy for mechanics to dismiss your issues by blaming it on the age; at least that's what I found at other places in Vegas.  Unhappy with lack of answers and lack of results, I went to yelp to find a new mechanic.  It wasn't hard to choose Dad's with their 5 star reviews, and over the 4 times I've dealt with them, it's not hard to choose them over and over again!

Long stories short, Wayne took the time to listen to me, drive my car, look for the problem and then fix it - and on 2 occasions now he's found that shotty work from others caused my new issues (again taking time to explain the issues, show me the old parts and help me understand so I could go back to complain to the past mechanics).

Between Wayne (the owner), Cassie (front desk), and Dan (mechanic) I've been beyond happy with the team at Dad's.  My truck is running better than ever; and with the abuse she gets it's important to have someone who cares as much as I do about keeping her healthy!

Thanks SO much Dad's!  -  Sara A of Las Vegas Nevada 5 Stars and I'll be back!

Dad's Garage is absolutely top notch. They'll be working on my vehicles for a long time to come.

We had a fuel pump go out on our 2003 Escalade, I called and spoke with Wayne, he was able to give me some troubleshooting steps over the phone to verify that it was my fuel pump which i gladly executed so that he could give me a more accurate estimate over the phone.

They had the job done in one day and my truck is back on the road. This company is truly a joy to deal with.  -  Kris T of North Las Vegas NV 5 Star Review on Yelp

I'll be back if/when any of my vehicles have problems.

Update 8/29/15 New Experience *****Stars Again.   Had to go back for more diagnostics. Truly, utterly AMAZING!!!  Wayne, you are a wonderful business owner!  Dawn of North Las Vegas NV

I'd given them 10 stars!  First major issue with my car and this place crushed my expectations.  Fair, honest, no up sell BS!  I hate car repair stuff. I always feel like I've been taken advantage of... Not here. I was so pleasantly surprised from the time I first called to schedule an appt through the diagnostic process and right up to the finish.  I would recommend and will go back.  Thank you Wayne and team!!  Review 7/31/2015

We took our Nissan 350z for a leak and electrical repair for our windows. These are the nicest  people I've ever encountered in the industry. The owner is kind and as the name states, very "Dad" like. Dan the technician was patient and explained what we needed to do. The receptionist was awesome and we scheduled a visit for Thursday.  We were very impressed with this team. Thank you, we are so relieved to have found a great auto repair shop.  Greateer J of Las Vegas NV
